Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers

 

The American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers course is an advanced level of CPR Training for individuals who have a job-related ’duty to respond’ to emergencies. Participants learn how to recognize and provide care in respiratory and cardiac emergencies for adults, children, and infants, with special emphasis on two-rescuer CPR, use of a BVM (bag valve mask) and an AED. Participants will be issued a course certification card, valid for 2 years, upon successful completion. An online training option is available for this class through the link below.

Recommended for – medical professionals, doctors, nurses, paramedics, EMTS, CNA, LVN, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, PAs, residents or fellows, medical or nursing students and dentists, or anyone working in the healthcare field.

BLS for Healthcare Provider skills (eLearning)

 

The American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers skills session is the ‘hands on’ portion of the AHA blended eLearning course – Otherwise known as Heartcode BLS. This course offers a flexible training option for the busy HCP, and includes skills practice and testing.

The skills session is conducted in person, after the student completes the Heartcode BLS online course (sold separately). The online portion of the course is approx 1 3/4 hours in length. Participants must complete the online course, print out the completion certificate and bring it to the skills session class. Upon successful completion of the skills, participants will receive the AHA BLS provider certification card.

Heartsaver CPR & AED

 

The American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR & AED course prepares individuals to confidently preform CPR, use an AED (automated external defibrillator) as well as provide care for choking emergencies. Adults, children and infants are all covered in this course. Participants will be issued a course certification card, valid for 2 years, upon successful completion.

Recommended for – teachers, personal trainers, coaches, parents, yoga instructors, camp counselors, foster care, nannies, babysitters (10 years or older), construction workers, general workplace, or anyone who wants to learn CPR and does not work in the medical field.

Course length – 3 hours
Cost – $55

Heartsaver First Aid

 

The American Heart Association First Aid course provides basic first aid and safety skills. This class equips individuals to recognize and provide first aid care for injuries and sudden illnesses. Participants will learn how to identify and care for a variety of medical emergencies including severe bleeding, shock, musculoskeletal injuries and other sudden illnesses. Asthma, seizures and allergic reactions (including the use of an epi pen) are also covered. Participants will be issued a course certification card, valid for 2 years, upon successful completion.

The American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR, AED & First Aid combo course prepares individuals to confidently perform CPR, use an AED (automated external defibrillator) as well as provide care for choking emergencies. Adults, children and infants are all covered in the course. In addition, you will learn how to identify and care for a variety of medical emergencies. Heartsaver Pediatric CPR, AED, & First Aid

 

The American Heart Association Heartsaver Pediatric CPR, AED & First Aid combo course prepares individuals to perform CPR, use an AED as well as provide care for for choking emergencies on victims of all ages, with an emphasis on infants and children.

In addition, you will learn how to identify and care for a variety of medical emergencies. Included are severe bleeding, shock, asthma, allergic reactions (including the use of an epi pen), musculoskeletal injuries, seizures, other sudden illnesses, etc.
This course is designed to meet the regulatory requirements for child care workers. It teaches child care providers and others to respond to illnesses and and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives.
Participants will be issued a course certification card, valid for 2 years, upon successful completion.

Family & Friends

 

The American Heart Association Family & Friends CPR course is a basic course intended for individuals who want to learn CPR, but do not need a a course completion card. This course covers CPR, use of an AED (automated external defibrillator) and choking relief for adults, children and infants.
